Dani Oblitas (RADFest)
Artist Statement
Un/Rerooted is a meditative performance installation rooted in herbal plantitas, guiding spirit and identity from disconnection toward ancestral homeland. The work explores borders, community, and reconnection to cultural roots through embodied memory.
How do we reconnect with ourselves, our identity, and our spirit to rebuild cultural connection and community? What has been lost—individually and collectively—and how do we find it again? What rememberings live within us, where the body becomes a site of resistance and memory?
Over the course of the weekend, this durational installation unfolds through live music, projection, performance, and sculpture that gradually build and evolve the themes of the work.
AUDIENCE EXPERIENCE
This durational work is designed for audiences to come and go, move through the space, and experience the installation from multiple angles and for varying lengths of time.
