Artist Statement
For more than fifty years, Fran Dwight has used her camera as both a refuge and a bridge, connecting her to the world and to the people whose stories she so vividly captures. Her journey began in 1968 when, as a young girl, she picked up her mother’s Brownie camera and discovered the power of seeing life through a lens. For Fran, photography became more than a passion; it was a language that allowed her to engage with others while remaining true to her introspective nature.
