Artist Statement
As an artist, Michele is inspired by the natural beauty of the world around them, particularly the vibrant colors and intricate forms of flowers. Through her work, she strives to capture and share this love of flora, creating pieces that are not only beautiful but also meaningful and uplifting.
She works primarily with paper, drawn to its versatility and the endless possibilities it offers for creative expression. Using the traditional craft of quilling, they cut and roll delicate strips of paper into intricate floral designs that echo the organic forms found in nature.
Approaching her practice with intention and mindfulness, she takes her time repeating the process in a meditative manner. This not only allows her to create work that is technically precise but also imbues each piece with a sense of calm and serenity.
Her ultimate goal as an artist is to create pieces that speak to the soul, that make the viewer feel seen, heard, and uplifted. Through their work, they hope to share their love of nature and inspire others to see the beauty in the world around them.
