Santino Jones
Artist Statement
Santino Jones is an MC from the Vine Neighborhood in Kalamazoo, MI. As his skills developed in the local Kalamazoo DIY scene in his late teens and early 20’s, Santino has discovered his love for blending genres like hip-hop, Jazz, r&b, alternative & experimental/avant garde to create a sound all it’s own. Influenced by the likes of D’Angelo, Radiohead, Nick Hakim, Blood Orange & Kendrick Lamar, Santino’s identity is ever changing, never intending to truly ever land on a “sound,” for that leaves no possibility of evolution.
