Sue Ellen Smith
Artist Statement
My name is Sue Ellen Smith, a Michigan based artist. I have been inspired by my dad, who was perfectionist, and adopted the same artist eye as him, finding joy in art, sketching, and growing as I went along. Determined to succeed. I applied for a grant and received a full scholarship from KIA for a graphite drawing class, I like graphite, and know sketching is a base for working with other mediums, such as gouache and watercolor. I find inspiration in nature, animals, and portraits of people.
