Karen Agopian
Artist Statement
Karen Agopian has been making jewelry for 23 years. When she took her first class at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts and held a torch in her hand, she knew she found her passion. All of her work starts out in the form of wire and sheet silver along with some 14 karat gold-filled wire. She is primarily focused on form and texture. Some of those textural techniques have an emphasis on hammering, roller printing, etching and reticulation.
