Artist Statement
“Our world is filled with a barrage of distractions that can provide escapes and facades to hide our true selves. Many people show how they want others to view them, few people show who they really are. As a creative and a photographer, I aim to always dignify and authentically showcase the essence of my subject.
My work not only captures the complexities of people but encourages self-reflection and expression. It promotes equitable action and shows the identity and culture of black & brown people. The images I create are warm, quiet and bold. They bridge traditional divides between photojournalism, portraiture and fashion.”
