Joyful Art’s grand opening is Art Hop on Nov 7! There, you will find what brings the artist, Amber Doan, joy. From tentacles to volcanoes, these oil paintings, prints, and watercolors offer a glimpse into the whimsical internal world of an artist. The Joyful Octopus is a body of work that Amber has been working on since 2022. This project is based around a dynamic image of tentacles she captured at an aquarium. This image saved her psyche over the last few years by focusing all her creative energy into painting it again and again and again. She tried out new styles, played with colors, and paid homage to influential artists of the past. Creativity is the antidote to anxiety, if you’re struggling and would like to try out the creative approach, Amber will be offering watercolor classes for every skill level. Her classes will offer a new way of looking at watercolor for greeting cards and other small paintings to keep it practical and accessible.
