Artist Statement
Emily Betros is the owner and creator at Earth Body Pottery. Handmade in Kalamazoo, her pottery invites you to slow down and be more present in your everyday living. As a former eating disorder therapist, she believes creating is an opportunity to release thoughts, feelings, and energy that sometimes don’t have anywhere else to go. Working with clay is her re-engagement with play and creativity in adulthood, allowing her to challenge mainstream cultural views on beauty, perfection, and pace.
Earth Body Pottery also offers community Play with Clay workshops where play not perfection is the focus, and you can create what you want!
