Afton Darsow
Artist Statement
Afton Darsow is a visual artist who resides in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Her art draws inspiration from a few things: her abundance of emotions, her love of color, and the imaginative community of artists in the Kalamazoo area. She jumped headfirst into the Kalamazoo art market scene in the summer of 2025 with bright pops of color and a playful style. At various markets in Kalamazoo, she featured a variety of original paintings and various wares highlighting her digital artworks. Previously, she has had her art featured in spaces including One Well Brewing, OutFront Kalamazoo, Muse GR, and more. She spent the winter painting and learning new mediums such as collaging and block printing. Her passion for art is parallel to her passion for animals and social justice. Afton is excited to continue developing her style, creating bright and playful art, and finding her place amongst an impressive constellation of local artists.
