Jesse Lemons
Artist Statement
Jesse Lemons, trumpeter and educator, focuses on classical trumpet playing as well as Black American Music (jazz) and shares both passions with his students. He draws inspiration from some of the greatest musical masters: Maurice Andre, Miles Davis, and Dizzy Gillespie. He is a Teaching Artist at Crescendo Academy of Music and Kids In Tune. Crescendo Academy of Music is a nonprofit community music school located in the Epic Center in downtown Kalamazoo. It offers private lessons, group classes, ensembles, and Music Together classes for ages 0- 6, as well as outreach programs. Need based financial aid is available for all Crescendo programs.
