Artist Statement
Alan Watson is a multi-disciplinary artist from Clawson, Michigan. He has worked for decades in the visual arts; creating, teaching, and exhibiting. His work is in public and private collections from Massachusetts to California.
Thematically, these two-dimensional works are abstractions that have emerged from the context of the landscape. The compositions present a wide variety of form, colors, and textures that still hold together as an integrated unit. Unity in variety is the operant principle here.
