Amy Lou Gieschen

Amy Lou Gieschen is an area Kalamazoo artist specializing in acrylic and watercolor landscapes and still lifes. She studied Fine Art at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit and Kendall College of Art and Design in Grand Rapids. She is inspired by her hikes and the trails and forever a Michigirl. Series of her work includes: fog, clouds, feathers and nests, lighthouses, and many single item still lifes and plein aire paintings and drawings. She believes every piece of work she does is practice and a study to improve her skills and challenge herself to look deeply and differently at what she sees versus what she thinks she sees.
