Anna Hansen – WMU Student Exhibit
Artist Statement
Anna Hansen is a dedicated student at Western Michigan University in the Frostic School of Art, pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Sculpture. Born on November 4, 1999, in Manistee, Michigan, Anna has always been drawn to the arts, supported by a creative family that encouraged her passion. She earned an Associate in Arts and Sciences degree from West Shore Community College in 2021, where she immersed herself in 2D art, the science of the human body, and psychology— elements that would shape her artistic vision. Though her start in art is rooted in 2D mediums, her interests have evolved to include ceramics, sculpture, and woodworking.
Recently, Anna’s work has been showcased at the DeVries Student Art Gallery in the Richmond Center for the Arts. Outside of her studies, she is passionate about sharing her love for art with children, teaching summer art classes at the Ramsdell Regional Center for the Arts in Manistee. Anna remains committed to exploring various artistic mediums, fostering creativity, and contributing to the art community.
