Artist Statement
“My name is Phoebe. I am a licensed taxidermist, sculptor, and mixed-media artist in the state of Michigan. My work is deeply inspired by whimsical and macabre scenes of nature, involving multiple mediums and scavenged materials to achieve a final piece. I am a nature lover at my core and enjoy spending much of my free time outdoors. I work exclusively with sustainably sourced elements. Utilizing connections in my community to Michigan homesteads, reviving odds and ends found in thrift shops, even foraging on hikes for dried flora or long forgotten bones. I have experience with commission work, group lessons, art fairs, galleries and events”.
