Joshua Thor Diedrich Sculpture Studio
Artist Statement
Joshua works with the figure because even after thousands of years, it’s still dangerous. It still has the same ability to touch people, to relate, to inspire and offend, to make people uncomfortable, to provoke thought and evoke emotion. Our fragile, vulnerable, basic fleshiness is a truth we all know and acknowledge every day, but still try to ignore, suppress, and legislate out of sight. The dichotomy of this fascinates him. The May 3rd Art Hop is an opportunity to view Joshua’s work in tribute to Tom Harding — organized by the Richland Area Community Center. This is not a meet the artist event.
