Kelly’s Jam Art
Artist Statement
Kelly Root is a Kalamazoo-based mixed media artist originally from Northern Lower Michigan who loves Lake Superior and the forests of the Upper Peninsula. Her work frequently finds its inspiration in Michigan forests and gardens but she also has a love of working with animals and the human figure. Kelly is currently featuring a series titled “Falling Michigan”, an exploration of the waterfalls of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula (Support provided by the Kalamazoo Artistic Development Initiative, a program of the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo.)
