Artist Statement
Mark Cassino is a landscape photographer and lifelong resident of southern Michigan. He photographs the trees, brush, and brambles of the Michigan landscape. Mark’s photos are intimate landscapes – small scale landscapes showing a place up close. He captures the beauty and character of the land, even though the trees may be broken and the fields may be cluttered with litter. His black and white work is made with medium format film cameras. The developed film is scanned, edited and printed digitally.
