Mary Brodbeck
Artist Statement
Mary Brodbeck is an artist that has lived in historic buildings her entire adult life. She moved into the Marlborough with her husband John Schmitt in 1995, and obtained her MFA in printmaking from Western Michigan University in 1999. Mary’s art is inspired by her reverence for nature and are in collections at the Detroit Institute of Arts, Muskegon Museum of Art, Kalamazoo Institute of Arts, and others. She divides her time between Kalamazoo and the Keweenaw Peninsula and teaches printmaking workshops nationally.
