Mel Romero – WMU Student Exhibit

Originally born in Eastern Michigan on January 23, 2003, Mel spent much of her life investigating all avenues of creativity. In 2021, she moved to Kalamazoo to pursue her Bachelor of Fine Arts, with an emphasis in painting, at Western Michigan University’s Gwen Frostic School of Art. In her time there, she has enjoyed including new mediums to enhance her love of pattern, texture, and the importance of color harmony. She regularly explores themes of mental health, social climates, and environmental consciousness as she expands her knowledge and those around her.
