Michael Haughey
Artist Statement
Michael Haughey has called Kalamazoo home for the past 40 years. He was born and raised in Three Oaks, Michigan, a small village in the southwest corner of the state. He studied oil painting privately during his high school years and continued to paint on and off following his graduation. Now at 70 years of age and retired, oil painting on stretched canvas is his full-time passion. He paints almost every day and considers his painting style as impressionism. Michael paints a wide variety of subject matter, including landscapes, seascapes, still lifes and florals. If you ask Michael which subject matter is his favorite, he will tell you “All of them!” He remains extremely grateful to Earthly Delights Amy Zane for displaying and selling his work!
