Wellspring/Cori Terry & Dancers RAD Fest
Artist Statement
For 15 years, Wellspring/Cori Terry & Dancers has hosted a growing number of cutting-edge dance artists from around the globe for a weekend of performances, classes, and connections at the Midwest Regional Alternative Dance Festival (RAD Fest). The festival, curated by Rachel Miller, is quickly rising to the top of contemporary U.S. dance festivals. RAD Fest is curated by Rachel Miller, screendance maker and Adjunct Professor of Dance at Grand Valley State University. Screendance, also known as Dance For the Camera, is all the rage among today’s dance makers. Screendances are choreographic works made specifically for the medium of film. Each year, RAD Fest showcases the works of local, national, and international screendance makers selected by an adjudication panel. Drop by during Art Hop to view a selection of films from 2023 RAD Fest and a special teaser of this year’s chosen works.
The Screendance preview will begin in the auditorium at 5 pm and is free to attend. KIA galleries will also be open free of charge from 5:00-8:00 pm!
