Zachary Earle

Artist Statement

Zachary Earle discovered his passion for the cello at the age of ten in his elementary school’s music room. While all his friends were picking clarinets, trumpets, and horns, Zachary couldn’t help but be captivated by the cello’s tonal warmth and impressive size. This fascination deepened as he began private lessons with Will Preece, cellist in the Grand Rapids Symphony. Under Preece’s guidance, Zachary not only explored contemporary cello techniques, but also developed a love for baroque cello. His unique ability to thoughtfully blend historically informed playing with modern cello techniques continues to captivate his audiences.
