Vicious Cycle Studio
Artist Statement
Taylor Rinkel of Vicious Cycle Studio is inspired, visually, by their view of the Midwest that they grew up in, both the one that includes rich forests and the one that includes run-down, abandoned buildings. In 2025, their work is marked by gouache or acrylic pieces on small panels. They have also discovered the joys of linocut printing and have produced several small-scale works of this type. Over time, they have worked with many other mediums, including oil, ink, watercolor, jewelry (beaded and semiprecious), embroidery, vinyl cutting, clay- the list goes on. There has never been a mastered medium, only blindly following creative urges from one to the other and back again. This is the Vicious Cycle.
